Marmon Foodservice Technologies’ near-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) on April 25th, 2024. This approval marks a key milestone in the company’s commitment to reducing GHG emissions across its operations and value chain.

“Today more than ever, there is a need to act globally to address the effects of climate change. To that end, Marmon Foodservice Technologies is committed to being part of the solution through our products and processes,” said Craig Heetland, Group President of Marmon Foodservice Technologies. “Our approved near-term science-based targets provide a clear path to reduce GHG emissions by 2033, and we are also committed to reaching net-zero by 2050.”
More specifically, Marmon Foodservice Technologies commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 54.6% by 2033 from 2021 base year. Marmon Foodservice Technologies further commits to reducing absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and use of sold products by 32.5% within the same timeframe. The target boundary includes land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks.
These science-based targets are consistent with what the latest climate science deems necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and provide a clear route to reduce GHG emissions to help prevent the effects of climate change while future-proofing our activities.
